While playing around with the iMovie ‘08 software Apple bundled with iLife ‘08 which came with my new iMac, I came across a very cool feature. You can use the built in iSight camera to create a movie and then upload it to your YouTube account. And you can do this VERY quickly without worrying about file formats, file sizes, etc. I don’t really use YouTube all that much and I’ll probably never have a video blog, but I thought that the seamless integration of iMovie and YouTube is pretty cool and very useful for someone who keeps a video blog. It may even be a key reason for someone to buy iMovie ‘08. It’s a pretty simple process…here’s how you do it:
Voila!! After a few minutes, your video should be up on YouTube.

Marie…I’m using the built-in mic on the iMac. It should give you reasonable quality audio.
Hi,
What microphone(s) is everyone using to record audio for these videos? Any inexpensive options that give good sound? Obviously you can’t use the internal computer speakers – terrible quality.
Would a Snowball USB mic work?
Wow – that was really easy. I thought it would be much more complicated than that. Thanks for the great step-by-step…I now have my very first video from IVideo up on YouTube!
Take care…Paul
i was having the same problem until i realised youtube gives mac a 100mb limit…make sure your vids are under 100 mb…do this by changing your projects in imovie 08 to standard rather than widescreen…
cheers mate…that really helped ey…thanks again!

Mucho gracias
Hey thanks a lot for the tutorial. I’m having issues with #11.
When I click ADD, I get a “Communication Error” pop-up from iMovie 08. Any idea why this is happening??
